Giving him not enough attention??
Hi, I'm in a relationship for almost 2,5 years and we live together now. I've been depressed again for over a year now. And I know him because we follow the same course. This is my "first relationship". In the beginning of our relationship we were very close, but now I don't feel as in love with him as in the beginning, of course that happens to everyone over tim and I still love him. Also I don't feel the need to cuddle and kiss with him as much anymore, sure I still do that almost every day. Sometimes it feels like I'm dating my best friend. A few weeks ago he told me he was frustrated because "I don't give him enough attention". I told him I can't give him that because I'm dealing with quite a lot and I just don't feel that lovey dovey. I gave him a little more since then, but now when I forget to say goodnight or anything he gets frustrated again and I just don't know what to do...
Have a heart-to-heart talk and try to make him understand that you have your own problems that get you concerned, so when you forget to do trivial things, it doesn't mean you love him less.
Wow.. we’re literally in the same situation LOL. same relationship time period and yes I was depressed for the last year too. Who are you and how do you know this?? Jk. But no, I think you should have a nice chat with him and ask him what his love language is/ what he would count as “love”. And then try to do more of that? Like I cook more/make him coffee in the mornings and then just make it part of your routine! Wake up, get dressed, do one act of kindness to your partner, drink coffee, etc. ... good luck my friend!
What a coincidence! Well he wants to hang on my lips 24/7 en hold me all the time, but I just don't feel like doing that. Sure I still kiss him but when I'm feeling terrible, I just want some space. He knows that, we go over and over it almost every two weeks. I'm starting to think it's not going to work out but I kinda don't want to break up him either. I'm looking for a place for my own but he absolutely hates that idea.
