How to be there for someone.

So I’m new here. But I’m wanting to know how to be there for someone in the time of need. My boyfriend is going through something right now and I have comfort and talk to him and gave him advice but I do feel like it is not good enough. I do struggle with mental health but I’m not using that as an excuse as other people do need help sometimes too… I just don’t know how to properly help him and I just need advice honestly. Please and thanks in advance .

I feel like I am going through the same thing myself now honestly. I’m unsure how often to bring up when he’s feeling down since he seems like a completely different person and I don’t want it to sound like I’m blaming him on everything

The best thing to do is just be there. Don't talk/ give advice just be there for him. The silence may be deafening, but will show him you care and are there for him no matter what. It will be up to him to open up. He may not even know how or what to start with.
