I decided to end things with my best friend
I decided to abruptly end things with a friend of mine after getting together with her on Friday and Saturday. It was during this last visit that I realized that she and I were not a good fit for each other.
While she is a lovely person and I feel sad about it...
- We are both in very different places in our lives
- We are going down two very different paths
My last visit with her was the straw that broke the camel's back
For one thing, she seemed to invite herself over. "Can I come and spend Friday and Saturday with you? I'm lonely." Although we had fun, it was not a pleasant visit. For instance, I felt like I had to move over for her. She also seemed rather bossy, demanding, and abrupt.
For instance, when we got home from walking to and from the store. It was "Can you cook please? I'm tired from that walk to and from the store?"
She also didn't to have a set time that she was leaving and was there until early evening. Things got to a point that I had tell her that it was time to wrap things up.
That was brave of you to end a friendship that was not working.
Good luck with the next chapter of your life.

Thank you for support. When I first cut it off, I still had the rose colored glasses on by thinking that we were just not going to be compatible. I also forgot about how she had been treating. It was only when I came here for support that the glasses came off.
If you also ask me, she didn't really seem like she was really all that excited to be there. Even though she was not feeling good, she seemed to mope around. While I am willing to be a crying shoulder, I am not willing to be taken advantage of like that.
