I guess the new term for this would be a “situationship”, and I know that gives no help to this, but I felt like that was important.

This situation started 2 years ago. We matched on a dating app and we hung out for 2-3 weeks before he went into the navy. We lived around 40 minutes away from each other. Things fizzled off after he left, and we stopped talking.

Fast forward to April, and I moved to his town. I thought “he’s the only person I know here, but he’s in the navy”. Yet 5 days after starting my new job, he walked through the door.

Those feelings from two years ago came flooding back in.

We both were going to be moving for school, making us 7 hours apart. But we decided we would enjoy the four months we had together.

We were both barely 21, so when we started seeing each other, we were trying new bars around our area on weekends. That turned into us wanting to spend more time together after they closed.

Our third outing, I met his father.

He would go out with my girls and I.

He met my surrogate family. My mom liked him so much she gave permission for him to stay over (which was a huge deal because of a conversation she and i had when I moved in).

I met his mom, step dad, both of their parents, his younger brother, his brothers girlfriend, and other family.

He took me on my first vacation, and gave me my first present to unwrap. We say I love you. He has a picture of me in his wallet, a Polaroid of us on his nightstand, and art I made on his walls.

He told my best friend that if we weren’t leaving he would make it official. But he has previously fucked experience with long distance and I have no experience whatsoever.

We still text and call everyday, and say I love you. He and my best friend/roommate already have plans for him to visit and for us to visit him.

I guess I’m just confused and need someone to tell me what to do.

sounds like your 4 months went well.... and maybe one of you could change your school is transferring to another program possible?

otherwise trying to do long distance is an option
