I don’t know what to do. I’m shocked
Hello, my name is Cole, and my girlfriend broke up with me the day after valentines. She struggled with aromantic and just put her foot down because her life is very busy and packed. Me, I am shocked and broken by this. Someone that I’ve spent so much time with and cared for so much. Her motivation helped me get out of a very dark hole of anxiety pre us meeting and I’m just super scared. She offered to be friends, and talk in person on Monday, and to assure she cared for me so much in other ways, but now she doesn’t even want to do that after giving a day to ponder. I’m just scared of being alone. Any advice or support would be great
@colesch10 Its understandable feeling scared if someone who helped you get out of a dark place with anxiety is suddenly gone from your life but the fact is you have within yourself the ability to deal with your anxiety she helped but you can also help yourself just as much and in the end you and noone else is doing the mental work necessary to overcome and you did. But this sounds heartbreaking and the day after valentines day too although it sounds like she is still interested in being in your life and just wants to focus her attention on something right now so this sounds like more of a break than a breakup. That is too bad she decided she could not meet with you today did she say why?
She did. She was busy. She is a busy woman as well which could have increased her struggles. We called last night. I told her I just wanted her to listen. I told her that I accepted and understood everything. After thanking her for everything and just what I’ve been through these few days having to realize and what not I asked her if she could at least be my friend still. I asked it out of fear of losing her completely, she helped me so much and she agreed. Yet Im broken so hard still
@colesch10 I know this is very hard to deal with but you can get through this and this doesnt mean you cant start a relationship with her again in the future. At this point in time what your doing is communicating to her that you accept her decision that shows her that you care and have respect for her and shows that your listening and understand the problems shes having in her life and willing to accept what shes able to give right now and thats something that anyone would appreciate and want someone like that to stay in their life so just keep doing what your doing be patient and understanding and keep showing her that you care about her :)
