I’m thinking worst-case scenario about a big mistake I made in my relationship. I think there’s even a chance he might call off the engagement. Does anyone have any advice on what to do with yourself when you not only ruin your own life and self-image but also have to live with something really unkind you did to someone you love and their family?

i am sorry you have this issue and it is stressful to deal with and overcome a mistake of big consequences. Maybe you should think about why you made a whatever choices that were made that led up to a BIG mistake.
