My boyfriend's family...

This sounds terrible, but I dislike spending with my boyfriend's family. They're all kind and nice, but we have surface level relationships as we are from different cultural backgrounds. We are open of course, but I don't by any means seek or suggest time with them. My boyfriend sees this and I know it upsets him, but I can't force myself to like them....I feel weird being with them because I feel like I'm pretending in order to make him feel happy. Any tips are very appreciated!

Sometimes our partner's families are not people we like at all. The best thing sometimes to do is act friendly and focus on your partner mostly to get through it all.
