My crush who kept staring at me choose another woman over me yet he keeps looking at me
I met this guy, and everything about him pulled me toward him. The way he looked at me made some people convinced we were dating, but I’m shy. Though some girls would shoot their shot, I didn’t. I guess he got used to girls approaching him, but I always preferred the traditional way of the guy pursuing the girl, and it never happened. Anytime he got close, I suddenly couldn’t talk, so we never had that moment.
I started seeing frustration from him and told myself I would muster the courage to initiate something. Unbeknownst to me, he had started seeing someone else and later brought her to the friend group. On that day, there was an air of pride or arrogance about him, like “Look at me, I’ve found someone.” I had never seen that side of him, and it broke my heart. It wasn’t so much that he brought somebody else; it was the way he stood there looking at me, almost checking for any sign of sadness, jealousy, or hurt. I really thought he was the one.
So I stopped reacting. If he looked at me, I ignored it and stopped looking at him altogether. Even though he brought her to the friend group, he wouldn’t stand next to her and kept his distance. In some cases, he would try to come closer to where I was, but I pretended not to see him. Sometimes, before they left, he would randomly stop to look at me one last time.
After a few weeks of this, we were all together with our friends. I was talking to one of the single guys, and when he saw me, he stopped dead in his tracks. He was physically shaken. To everyone’s surprise, the next time we saw him, they were married. Now, only two months in, he looks downcast. The arrogance he first showed has vanished. Instead of a happily married man, he seems sad and detached.
Now I catch him looking for me in any setting, staring from a distance, no matter where I stand. Anytime we’re in the same room, he does everything he can to create space between him and his wife, no PDA at all. Even when she tries to initiate affection, he ignores it by putting his hands in his pockets and shifting away. He seems annoyed with me even when I say hi. When I congratulated him on his marriage, he acted surprised and responded unenthusiastically, “Oh, thanks,” in an annoyed tone. It’s like my presence irritates him.
- Does he blame me for his current situation?
- Why does he keep staring at me when he has found his forever person, even when I don’t acknowledge him or his stares?
At least now that he's married you can hopefully move on to someone new that's available for you.
Whether or not he blames you, is on him. You're only responsible for your own actions.
Perhaps he is wistful of how things could have turned out, or maybe his marriage is at present proving more challenging but none of this is your problem. It's for him as an adult to work things out.
Focus on your own happiness and moving forwards in whatever direction it takes you :)
Dear Miss,
I am a relationship expert.
A Man who speaks Straight as an Arrow No Sugar.
notice all that you wrote. Bamm.. the answer is in there.
hint : It always " he looks at Me a certain way " He walks in with this new girl " and then your mental story of what he is "thinking" "feeling".... A guy who knows what he wants will never miss so many opp to just SAY... whatever he actually wants to. You r doing all the mental insertions of what hebl is trying? to say. Focus on actual verbal conversations he tried to start.
you may be used to giving too much. including mental space to this guy by story telling what he as guy ( ur preferred way) shud just step up and say it.
