Relationship Responsibilities
Hi everyone! Maintaining relationships require quite a bit of dedication. Most close relationships entrust us with certain responsibilities that play a role in ensuring a healthy relationship with the person. It can be simple things such as a chore you are entrusted to do or big asks such as who will be the key provider in a household etc
Which relationship responsibility is challenging for your to fulfill and what makes it rewarding to do so?
@Hope
For me, since we live on a large plot of land, there is much maintenance to be done around, including weeding. With the heat recently, it's been difficult to get motivated to get out there in all the bugs and heat to do the weeding. What motivates me is: I don't want to see my husband doing all the work, and also, I found that the strength in my arms and shoulders is improved because of all the heavy work. It does improve our relationship when I help with these tasks and there is a feeling of pride at work well done.

“Which relationship responsibility is challenging for your to fulfill and what makes it rewarding to do so?”
Again @Hope another challenging question!!
We have been in relationship over 20 years. And the roles
change.
In the beginning, after reading @PatienceImpatiens post, when we bought our
home in 2009. I wanted a simple lawn. Nothing fancy, simple shrubs. Low
maintenance. My spouse wanted all these colors and plants and flowers, etc etc.
Here we are 14+ years later going back to what I wanted :) . Spouse is “too old” to care for it. And I
have no desire to care for flowers and what not. Don’t get me wrong I like the
looks. I just don’t want all the fuss. Prefer to focus on the function and
keeping it “clean”.
I have found us to be lazier now than when we were 10 and 20 years ago LOL.
So the Challenge, it is hard to say. At times it seems like our relation is our relationship. We can irritate each other to no end. But the thought of not have my spouse is well numbing. We ask each other to do things and some we don’t even verbalize. Like if I see the coffee pot hasn’t been set up for the morning I do it. If our dog hasn’t been out at the time I am heading to bed (5am comes quickly) I just take the dog out. So I am unsure what is challenging
