Romance Challenged
I have never bought a gift for a woman.
My anniversary just passed and my wife knew she wouldn't get anything.
I could tell she was sad.
I want to get her something just to say I love you. I have no idea what to do though!
It is extra hard because she is a minimalist.
She likes coffee. Would a coffee cup be okay or is that bad?
I have no ideas.
Maybe flowers would be good if she is minimalist. She could enjoy them till they fade then toss them out. Maybe get her a good brand of flavored coffee? Or you could take her out to dinner.
Wine? Chocolates (good ones)? Earrings? A romantic weekend; a nice room somewhere and an evening out? A beautiful scarf? A tree if you have a garden, my dad gave my mum a Daphne bush the day that I was born and she adored that plant for longer than she adored him :)
ask. her. what. she. wants. I’m simple but after 16 years of marriage I decided I wanted to get given things for special days! I told my husband just a .99c card and a $5 mug he thinks I’d like, or chocolate he knows I like or wild flowers. If she’s a minimalist then i think it’s safe to ask her what she would like. Have her make you a list of things she would like to receive for certain holidays. I appreciate that you’re asking for advice, because so many people just live their lives ignorance or confusion and never take the initiative to learn something.
