Scared of relating my lack of things in relationships
I’ve always never had a father figure and a older man or anything to care for me so I realized I date older guys and look for the care there because I didn’t get it as a kid and I know it’s bad dating someone older but how do I even explain to my grandparents why I date people older
My father left when I was around 9, never heard or seen again, plus I never lived with a boy/man. I am now 24, so I didn't know what to expect from men growing up and being in relationships.
I think it kind of depends on how your grandparents are. This is a real thing that more people than you think struggle with, I don't like the stigma behind it but the term "daddy issues" comes to mind.
Have they asked you about this or are you wanting to just initiate it and open up to them?
