She’s changed so much… I don’t know how to handle it anymore.

Hey everyone. I’m going through a really confusing time with my girlfriend. She’s changed a lot lately after something happened in her family, and now she’s more distant and closed off. I used to feel really close to her, but now I feel like I don’t even recognize how our relationship works anymore.

I’m trying so hard to adjust, but it feels like everything I do isn’t enough. She replies less, she doesn’t open up like before, and I keep feeling angry, sad, and empty about it. I know I shouldn’t be this upset, but it’s like I’m grieving the old version of her and the closeness we had.

I just want to stop feeling this frustrated and lost all the time. Has anyone gone through something like this — when your partner suddenly changes and you’re left trying to figure out how to deal with it?

🥺

I'm sorry she went through something.

But you are not a mind reader.

And it's not stupid.

It's important to sit down and have an open and honest conversation and tell her how you feel and see how you both can move forward.

You deserve the same energy you are putting in 💜💕

Hi

I'm sorry for all the pain and confusion you're are going through.

It can really hurt when some one seems to pull away because more often than not it makes you feel your at fault and not worthy or guilty.

Yes for a while you can change / compromise due to what has happened with her family but on the long term what's happened is not going to sustain your relationship.

You may have tried but you didn't say is whether you have sat down and had a good talk and communicated about all this. Why the family situation has changed her and how that has affected you and your relationship. She may have been so preoccupied she doesn't realize it. You're allowed to be upset.

One of biggest killers of relationships is long term uncommunicated expectations.

All the best reach out if need be.

Dear I understand it completely, I have seen such case from both side. Their must be something going on other side like a big loss she is hiding, she is hiding pain and in trying so her personality is changing rapidly.

Best wishes for you two
