The love of my life
So the love of my life who has a 7 month old (not mine but I see him as mine) and is also currently carrying our unborn has made it evident to me that my lack of control on my emotions will cause me to lose all of them. I don't know how to really express them and am scared that my overreacting to even some minute things will drive her away. Any advice on how to really get a grip on emotions especially when it comes to properly handling them?

Sounds like a tough situation for you. Take one step at a time my friend. Sounds like you're unable to handle your emotions right now. I'd say that first of all its very important to communicate your feelings to your partner. Letting them know what's going on with you is good so that they know that whatever you're doing isn't intentional.
Second, there are various ways to learn to take charge of your mind and emotions but its a slow process and needs consistency. If you really want emotional stability then you'd have to be very consistent. I'll share few ways below as I don't know what works for you:-
Mindfulness Meditation: Practicing mindfulness helps you stay in the present moment, reducing overthinking and emotional turbulence. At 7cups, we have mindfulness community. Check out this link for some great mindfulness meditation videos- https://www.7cups.com/forum/MindfulnessSupportCommunity_106/ResourceLibrary_1062/2017MindfulnessVideos_72071/
Journaling: Writing down your thoughts and emotions can provide clarity and help you process feelings.
Physical Activity: Exercise releases endorphins, which can improve your mood and reduce stress. This personally works really well for me.
Healthy Boundaries: Set emotional boundaries in relationships to avoid feeling overwhelmed or drained.
Balanced Diet and Sleep: Maintaining good nutrition and sleep hygiene helps stabilize mood swings.
Breathing Exercises: Deep breathing can help calm your mind and reduce anxiety.
Support System: Lean on close friends, family, or professionals to express your feelings and gain perspective. At 7 cups, you can talk to a listener to vent and seek emotional support ❤️
Hobbies: Engage in activities you love, like digital art, to channel emotions productively.
Gratitude Practice: Focusing on things you're grateful for shifts your mindset away from negativity.
I understand and relate to the feeling of not being able to control the emotions. However, I'm pretty much sure that eith your willingness you can easily make a good progress for your partner and your kids ❤️ You can pm me if you need someone to talk! Take care.
