Trust Issues In Relationships

Hello everyone!
I hope you are doing fine. Today I have a discussion for you on the biggest issue of any relationship.. TRUST.
If trust issues aren’t the number one cause of breakups, it has to be one of the leading causes. I’ve noticed that the problems most couples face are usually arguments that can be traced to insecurities masked as trust issues.
A lot of times, prematurely entering relationships leads us to bring unresolved problems from previous relationships. This gives our significant others unfair disadvantages; it hinders them from giving us their all because we never give them a chance to do so.
✧ Signs of trust issues:
- You check his/her phone.
- You think of worst-case scenarios.
- Your leash is tight.
- You cheat as a sort of revenge.
- You test your love.
Now it's your turn! I have some questions for you (I will answer them too) and also feel free to share with us your thoughts or experience about the topic:
- Do you think that one confirmed trust break issue or a lie can end a relationship?
Yes I do, It's not about being judgemental or strict, It's just I feel like once it's broken, nothing will be clear again or out of suspicion.
- Have you experienced trust issues before?
I did several times, because of a toxic relationship in the past and being cheated.
- Do you think that there are issues that have a greater impact on relationships than trust?
I don't think so as I believe everything else is built over trust foundation.
Thank you for your shares and participation. Wish you all a healthy and warm relationship.

- Do you think that one confirmed trust break issue or a lie can end a relationship?
It can, but it also depends on how the other person is. If they are willing to forgive, forget & move on or if they feel sabotaged and unwilling to proceed. Each situation is different. :)
- Have you experienced trust issues before?
Yes. I lived with an ex before and he would always be on his phone late at night. When I would wake up and ask what he's doing, he would put the phone down and act sleep. Other suspicions related to that as well.
- Do you think that there are issues that have a greater impact on relationships than trust?
Yes there can be like with overall compatibility. But other than that, I strongly believe trust is one of the biggest foundations within a relationship.
@Heythereletschat024 Thank you for your wonderful share! Indeed compatibility also is a great issue. I'm also sorry about your past unpleasant experience with trust issues.
@Anexmos
No problem, happy to be here!
I try to be straight out with a person and tell them how it is.
I try to tell people even warn people that I gave mood swings, lots of triggers from trams and a very complicated. I expect the same truth and honesty from others.
My best friend whom I have a crush on, just didn't tell me that he has a boyfriend. I only found this out from his boyfriend. That hurt so bad. My trust with him is hanging on a thread.
I love him so much. I just want him happy..
Trust means so much to me.
@Rebekahwriter13 I understand your situation and can relate to that. Trust is the most important factor in relationship and also friendship I believe. Thank you for your share!
@Anexmos thank you

- Do you think that one confirmed trust break issue or a lie can end a relationship?
It depends. If it was not impacting the very premise of the relationship. Or if it was a mistake of the moment... or some other mistake of judgment that could be explained... then perhaps no. But... if it was a blatant sneaky premeditated thing... that showed a fundamental unfixable problem with the person or the relationship...then probably it's the end of trust.
- Have you experienced trust issues before?
Yes. I didn't trust the foundations of the relationships. Relationships for the wrong reasons. Expectations issues. Not thought out properly. Immature relationships.
Also, after relationships deteriorate... then reasons for mistrust can grow like weeds. It's probably better to end the relationship before that phase... or change the relationship so it has reasonable shared expectations.
- Do you think that there are issues that have a greater impact on relationships than trust?
Depending on the relationship, you may not need to trust them in all ways. You may just need them to provide what is needed for the relationship to seem beneficial and likewise do the same for them. If that is the case, then other issues can have a bigger impact on the relationship that trust.

This is a very good post! I appreciate you sharing with us!
I'm not able to give my answers as Im not sure what to comment. .
I am going through tough time right now.
@KatLis123 Thank you so much! I hope everything is okay with you. I'm sorry to hear that you are having a tough time and I want you to know that I'm always available for you if you ever feel like talking or vent out.
@Anexmos
Thats kind of you. What to do when you feel like nothing else you can do other than separate or divorce?
@KatLis123 You are always welcome. and that's a tough one.. for me, I'd be the last one to call for it, I do my best to keep it up and healthy. but if ending it was the best way for both parties, then it's the way it is. I hear you.. and feel what you say
@Anexmos
I dont want to leave him, we didnt cheat. none of us. but there was emotional neglect for sure that caused bigger and bigger distance that anytime we try to have a serious conversation it gets very unpleasant for both of us. hes quite emotional and finding tense discussions to difficult to handle, and i like to get to the bottom of things right there and then, as quickly as possible. we've been married 2 years, together past 3 years, still not on the same page on lots of matters and issues.
@KatLis123 I understand how difficult it can be, and I'm sorry that you came to this point between you. We laways try to find common language between us with respect to personality differences. But sometimes other factors affect this language like other stacked unsloved issues or feelings change. I wish you the best
@Anexmos
People make mistakes, it's what they do after to acknowledge their error and that they make the effort to change and improve. I don't think one incident paints a whole picture of who a person is.
I did several times in several relationships experience trust issues. Finding someone that was wiling to be honest and deal with their issues was key. Communication is a big factor as well as trust.
@adaptableClementine4356 Indeed! I agree with you. One issue is not always the end, it depends on the issues like you said, whether they regret it and want to improve and make sure it never happens again, or they did it in purpose and don't really feel sorry about it or consider it an issue. Thank you for participating
