What Does A Healthy Relationship Look Like?
While working through my healing journey with an anxious attachment style and codependency plus some other mental afflictions such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Disorder as well as being an adult child of an alcoholic father and a narcissist mother I’ve come to the realization that I have absolutely no idea what a healthy relationship looks like.
So I would like to know what a healthy relationship looks like to you? What are the healthiest boundaries between you and your partner? Healthy habits around spending time together and apart? How do you show affection, or manage how much or how little affection and attention you give/get? What are the conversations you have to gauge the health of your relationship and how do you address problems in a healthy way?
Than you!
@WayneRoberts85 Hello Wayne! I hope you are doing well! I think a healthy relationship will vary a little bit for every couple. But in general, I would say that a healthy relationship is one where you are experiencing more happiness than stress. Communication is very, very important and it's essential that you talk through anything that may be on your mind. Knowing your boundaries of how much time you want to spend with your partner and apart from them is key too. You want to still remain an individual even in the relationship. Your partner shouldn't be the only person in your life. You need your family and friends too. I hope this helps! 💛
