When Every Reaction is Childish

I just do not understand why every reaction my husband has to have is always childish. Pouting, tantrums, etc. Seriously, I'm SO DONE with it. So many times I feel like I'm the only adult in the house. There is just no reason for the way he reacts. Example - let's say he's in one room and I'm in the other. He says something to me but I don't hear it exactly. Like, "Can you get my phone out of the car." And maybe I just hear something about the car. So, two things happen. One, I just ignore whatever he said, and then he'll get overly mad because I didn't get his phone - to the point where he won't talk to me for a long while. Or two, I'll go and say "what did you say, I couldn't hear?" and then he'll get overly mad, grumble about me not listening, and then won't talk to me for a long while.

I'm tired of this. And when I say he won't talk me - it could be days where he pouts and won't say five words. It's so stupid. It's like he wants to be miserable and stew in anger and misery. One day he got so mad - literally nothing at all I did, and over the most trivial thing ever - that he barely spoke to me for an entire week.

It's exhausting to be around someone who is so negative all the time. Life is so short - I just don't understand why he has to make everything into something awful.

@thoughtfulmomma

This is the worst emotional abuse, I totally understand and had someone in my life who did this to me too. It sucks and it hurts and it feels that they just don't care. I lived with this for years and thought it was normal until I met someone who was able to talk about their feelings without punishing me. This is not healthy for him or for you. We deserve love that feels safe and secure, not scary and walking on eggshells.
