When do you think is the right time to start a new relationship again after you have overcome a breakup .

Living a single life has its benefits and some people don't want to give up that easily But then you reach a point where you start to miss things you have done in the past but don't exactly miss the person . Also is dating someone online considered safe ?

I personally think that the right time is whenever we personally feel ready for it, it doesn’t matter if it is a week, a month, a year or even 10 years but as long as we can feel ourselves being fully at peace with taking the step to.

A relationship/dating is considered as one once both parties has mutually agreed to it, no matter if it is physically (irl) or online.

Correcting the last part of my answer : it is safe as long as there is foundation, clear and honest communication, awareness and vigilance.

I don’t really think there is a certain amount of time. Honestly my last breakup was such bs that I got in a new relationship (and healthier/happier) in a little over a month. So I guess I moved on pretty fast. Which my ex took as an insult but he absolutely ruined any trust I had in him. I feel like I did a lot of self reflection post breakup and knew for a fact that I was dating a facade. And the person I fell for was just who he wanted me to believe he was.

😊Anyway. New guy…Lol, I was distant-ish friends with him for years before we got in a relationship. Mostly I think it’s important to communicate with any potential partner that you’re freshly broken up and still healing. I was grateful that my new bf was understanding of where I was at and I could talk about my feelings without him getting jealous or upset. We became closer through it and I’m very happy now. We’ve been together almost 8 months and I’m very content. 💕

Do what feels right.

There really isn’t a right or wrong answer to that. The key is that you’ve truly let that other person go and are ready to move on. If you are clear on first then you are safe from being in a rebound situation.

Sometimes that new person will unexpectedly come out of nowhere way sooner than you think or it could take a while.

I went through a breakup near the beginning of the year and I unexpectedly met some one new a few months after that so anything is possible.

Ask yourself this: When was the last time I checked their social media?

@NotThatAnnoyingguy Never ? 😂 😂 kidding.

Man, there is no right time. I'm at my 40's, I can share some personal experiences.

If I had the mindset I have now like 15 years ago, I would never engage in a relationship for supposed loneliness for instance. Many, many social relationships are as just fulfilling as a romantic one. You gotta ask yourself: do you want a relationship, or do you want your "better half ", or even this: can you make it through the day/week/month without a "b..ty call"? If you just don't consider your life has tremendous value no matter what, you'll always be dependent upon other people to make you feel safe, happy and important. There is exception to the rule: family and friends. In my opinion, It is vital we don't need a relationship, but we want a relationship. Because if we need something, especially romantic relationship wise, we're gonna have some trouble along the way.

Why am I telling you all that? If you start looking in the wrong direction, chances are you will come across a point of no return for a long, long while. Some relationships are almost impossible to get rid of, and the consequences of leaving are equally as bad as staying in one. It's like doing time. Of course you can find a great person along the way. But to choose right, you gotta be really good about yourself.

Now I get back to where I started. Fifteen years ago I was really good about myself, but I ended up making wrong decisions that shifted me from that state of mind, and going back was virtually impossible: after all, some external factors sometimes are imperative. In general, if you feel important, safe and happy enough, you will be able to get out of the situation in no time, with no traumas, no PTSD, etc ready for another shot. Otherwise, you will just go with the flow.

Hope you can find the peace and the love you deserve, especially from yourself.

Cheers.

That can vary from person to person but one thing that I know is that getting into any relationship as soon as you break up leads to rebound and won't last longer. Every human being requires some time to be able to accept the pain of a breakup but if somebody gets into another relationship instead of taking that required time, they will end up being hurt even more than before. @NotThatAnnoyingguy

You seem ready for new start. Congrats you over your ex! It not easy step. Actually dating ups need be really careful but as a guy it easier for you. Don’t rush in intimacy, take your time to get to know her. Girls appreciate when it is not rushed, get to know her, her family, friends. It all takes time, give your self time to get into it all again. And listen in your inner voice/intubation. Good luck to you!
