Why do people struggle to feel real love?

I'm so messed up right now. My (ex)boyfriend and I stopped talking to each other suddenly because he's so jealous of my indeed very light past. He used to treat me like a sex toy lately just to please his needs with his behaviour. I mean he didn't do so when in person because we had a relationship from distance. I got his frustration, I was facing the same issues of emptiness of not being able to be with my lover! As a selfish he is he broke up with me just by unfriending me from social media. To mention I'm 27 years old, he's 21 and I know he's young enough to reflect the consequences of his actions. What hurt me the most is the fact that he gave me so many promises and said he was in love with me. But how can egoism be stronger than love? I guess he was lying to me the whole time because if you care about someone you don't push them to the edge, especially for something that's not even your business. I feel betrayed, I never thought that person would destroy something beautiful just to please his sexual needs. I may sound like a teenager but I'm serious when I'm saying that we weren't like most gay couples. There are strong feelings and we shared something unique. We love each other but I think meaningless sex is what he needs. I can't hate him though!

My point is, why do people give up so easily? How can someone tell you he loves you so much and the other day breaking up? Why can't people feel love nowadays? Why is there all this narcissism and rawness?

🥺😔

@GreyGriffin93 who knows people are fickle and are scared to commit to relationships love takes time to develop and sometimes people fall out of love and break up.

Too many people are frivolous with their use of the word love I find. One persons definition of love is another persons definition of like. Whatever he felt was not strong enough it seems.

My own definition of love is a bond that not only changes you but the person who loves you back in a way that is obvious to see. You literally glow and there are few things you would not do for them or they for you. You become everything and they become everything to you.

You cannot choose to love someone. It just happens and you can never escape it.

If he loves you, he'll come back. Just don't wait for him to do so.
