engagement concerns
i was just engaged a few days ago, my bf buy me a ring at the mall in order for me not to overthink things about our relationship. i just said this announcement to a pastor and then i felt like he was shocked because it was a quick decision that i'd made. he knowsmy problems about us having commited sin (fornication) before marriage and then i saw him that he posted something in socmed saying, "anything that is not good in the eyes of the lord will not last forever, and will lead you into regrets in the end," i know we have sinned against God but i feel somehow affected by what he say, and i overthink about that post and im having second thought about our engagement if i will still continue, i said this to my parents and they say dont mind the pastor and dont follow his advice because it really affects me, my father says i should follow science instead of religious advice because thats what helped me from the start

listen to your parents .... do not overthink or focus on your pastors words .... if you have repented and your sin is absolved why a post eating at you...
religion and spirituality can be taken to literally and ask yourself ....... do you want to be engaged? are you using this pastor thing as an out?
thanks for the concern, actually im still planning to engage with my bf despite the fact that the pastor is disagreeing with it. and also he said that i should post it in my socmed account about our engagement snd also the wedding. but on the contrary, my bf and i planning to keep it private for the sake of our safety. yes i feel bad about disobeying what the pastor instructed me to do so. and also he said that the engagement should not take too long, like you must be married after 1year or within 6months because thats what the christians would do. but for us were planning to be married if we are both ready. i dont know if our decision is right
