Abnormal pap..
I recently got an abnormal pap, I made this appointment because I had a gut feeling something was wrong. I was right. I had very high levels of bacteria and tested positive for hpv...I went to my doctor instead of an obgyn so now I have to wait for my app at a new place on Monday and I am freaking out and on top of that I think I may have a uti? Idk ive been on the internet researching too long. Just looking for some positivity. hoping there is nothing cancerous going on.
@Texasgirl281 - I know it's really scary to hear that you have an abnormal pap and then to have to wait to learn anything more. I can't tell you what it is or what it isn't, but I can tell you that it's not too unusual to have an abnormal pap and have everything still be okay. I think most women will have an abnormal pap from time to time (my last one was, and it was just a yeast infection). So as hard as it is not to know, try to take deep breaths, distract yourself, or do other calming activities because you have already done everything you can, and now it's just a waiting game for an answer that might not even be too serious. And I am all too familiar with the dangers of googling too much on medical things (just yesterday convinced myself I had a blood clot in my thigh, when I almost certainly do not). Remember that the small stuff doesn't usually pop up in searches, even though it's way more common.
