Birth control pills after period
So I've done some reading and research on taking birth control pills when it's not the first day of my period. A lot says it's more recommended to take it the day of instead however taking it whenever you want is also fine, so long as I give myself a timeframe of at least 7 days before engaging in sex.
I just finished my period around 4 days ago and am hoping to start my pill now. Anyone has any personal experience with this? I don't mind waiting the 7 days, but will it do any damage to my body like my perhaps a lot of irregular bleeding? Will the pill still work effectively and normally after the 7 days?
@LilyPond - I'm sorry you didn't get an answer when you first posted this! As long as you give it the 7 days to be fully in effect, there should be no issues with starting at a different time. It will shift the timing of your period slightly as the pill works with a '3 weeks on, 1 week off' style where the first three weeks of pills have the hormones and the fourth week are effectively dummy pills where you have your period and do not need the hormones, if that makes sense. So your period timing would shift to be whenever the fourth week of pills begins.

I think you got wrong info about "taking it when you want 7 days before engaging in sex". Birth control pills are medicine. You can't randomly pop one like that. They are hormones in your body and playing with them can damage your health.
Take the first one in the first day of your period. Because this part is 100% right.
