Hello there!
Hello comunity, i'm here looking for some support that i really need. The thing is that i took an HIV test today, and i am completely terrified about the results (i will receive them tomorrow). I have never had unprotected sexual relationships, but i'm scared anyways. I would like to know if anybody here has passed through similar experiences and what are your thoughts about it. Thank you a lot for the support you might want to give me.
You know, I have had a scare before. I think it's important for everyone to get checked outregularly for these things every time they enter into a new sexual relationship with someone (or routinley if they are practicing more casual sexual activity). I once went for a full test and got a call a week later from the doctor who said to me...
"Hi there. I am calling from the doctor's office with your results. We found that..." and then my phone died right at that moment! I had a little panic for a few days, but once I spoke to her again she told me everything was fine and that I just had lower levels of iron and should try taking a supplement.
It's easy to get paranoid about these things what with the media messages out there, but the reality is that if you've taken precautions and been safe, the chances of being infected with HIV is very low. Just keep in mind that there are always risks with sex, and to always be careful with your sexual health, but try to stay positive, safe and enjoy your dating life! :)
