My sexual liberation (kinda long, sorry)
If anyone of my previous sexual partners starting from about 2 years ago would've met me, they would've met a girl that only had sex with people she was in relationships with.
However, now it's pretty much as long as I consent, then it doesn't matter.
So, how is this liberating for me exactly?
It took me a while to realize the liberation I feel about it, but once I realized it, I felt free. Free from what society has to say when it comes to girls having sex, free to play more, and also free to feel pleasure and not feel guilty.
How this started was about 2 years ago, my last boyfriend dumped me at the beginning of they school year after about a year together. I was heart broken and for a while didn't want anything to do with relationships. At some point after that, I got asked to have sex with another guy (there are many instances, but I can't say which was the first one) and for some reason, I consented. From then, I have been having sex with people I feel like in general (male or female, I'm bi). There is always consent and I don't feel obligated. If I don't want it, I tell them and they usually back off respectfully. Actually, now I even have "fuck-buddies" as I like to phrase it. "Friends-with-benefits" kind of works too. However, you wish to word it.
This to me over time has actually been rather helpful for me. I've gotten to learn more things I like and dislike. I also realized, so far in my experience anyway, sexual history doesn't really matter, just as long as you consent and are healthy it's all good. It's also nice because I can get a little bit of intimacy I want, but don't have to fear expectations not being met as much. It's a stress realiveras well. It's strange to some people, but for me, it's nice.
I don't feel ashamed at all. I don't have any regrets about it either. I've learned that sex is what you want it to be. If you want it just for pleasure, go for it. If you want it to show love, go for it. Hell, do it for science! I feel as long as everyone involved is on the same page, then have fun.
For those reading this, I hope you find your own sexual liberation. As long as it makes you happy, don't stress too much about it.
Good for you! This was very Interesting to read. Personally I couldn't be so open or free with my sex life, I want sex to Mean something to me and my partner. In my current relationship I know this isn't the case, but I don't blame him for not feeling as I do... it kind of strains our sex life though. :/
Very good for you! I'm happy you've found an attitude that works for you!!
I'm glad you've enjoyed this. I hope that everyone has their own in their own way :D
I'm not that interested in sex, but for me my liberation from my repressing mormon upbringing was probably the exact same journey.
That's wonderful!!! And I don't think it's strange at all! Reminds me a lot of myself.
