Pregnant and husband doesn't want sex
I'm new, this is my first post. I'm going through a hard time because my husband gives me excuses for not wanting to be intimate with me anymore, every since my stomach started showing. He now masturbates a Lot, which I didn't notice as an issue before and completely ignores me or justifies my feelings with lame excuses. This is not our first pregnancy. He wasn't like this before. I am six months pregnant and holding on my a string, about to end the relationship. It seems that it would hurt less to end things rather than to continue living with the man I love feeling the way I do. And because of his lack of sensitivity to the issue, I don't foresee myself wanting to be with him after the baby is born either. I honestly don't feel like he loves me anymore and am not interested in that kind of relationship.
My reason for coming here is hoping to get insight from someone who has gone through the same thing, male or female- and to make sure I'm not blowing things out of proportion because of pregnancy hormones.
Father of 4. Perhaps,it's him perhaps it's you.. Try asking if he loves you. Tell him how your feeling.. if he loves you he will wipe away your tears and give you a foot massage. You can ask for such things, your pregnant..
@vlostatseav. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have tried taking with him a few times. He makes excuses, ignores me and walks away or gets angry and changes the topic to start an argument and completely pushes my feelings under the rug. And massage.. He's every time I mention it, he complains about his back, gets sleepy or conveniently forgets. He wasn't always this way with me. :(
Still maybe it's you maybe it's him, you can always try upping your game, whan he's sat in front of the TV, get him a drink and dinner, then question him, can't get away then..
Some men do.shut down emotionally, doesn't mean he doesn't love every little bit of you.. You will never know till he talks, and you are allowed to use being pregnant to your advantage, because your pregnant, and vulnerable, and possibly a bit of a hormonal mess.... Just keep asking..
My husband was like this for a bit too. Once I started showing and especially once he could feel the baby kick it took him a while to get over the "ick-factor" of it. He was going through all the what-ifs and dealing with my hormone induced mood-swings and was a big ball of anxiety as we had just had a miscarriage a few months before. Not to mention he was going through the stress of a job change from a job that was relatively lax (maintenance) to once that was high-stress (law enforcement). Between his anxiety and stress he often had a short fuse, and sex was weird for awhile because he was worried he'd hurt the baby or we'd be doing things and he'd feel the baby kick and that would turn him off immediately. Your husband's issues may be a combination of things. Maybe he's stressing about work, or he's being hit with the reality that there really is another baby on the way. Perhaps he's worried about being able to afford everything, or maybe he feels like he's not getting enough attention. Some men are very empathic and/or reflective and if you're feeling any type of negative then he might be picking up on it and reflecting it. It seems like he has some mixed feelings going on about something. Perhaps for a little while consider putting sex away for a bit so that the two of you can work on your relationship. I know that's a hard thing to consider because hormones and all that, but he may feel that something in your relationship is missing and doesn't want sex as a result. Good luck and try not to stress over it too much.
