25yrs now gone
Well I'm 44 been with my wife everyday since I was 17 but due to medication for depression I became something that my wife didn't like and in a moment of her need was not able to be what she needed
she's now found someone who was and I've been fighting everyday for 6 months to keep her begging
pleading crying every minute of everyday but she wont have none of it
she was the one that saw me change over the years on the pills and asked me to come off them but I was scared that if I did I'd act on my thoughts of suicide
then something happened that made me see what I'd became and stopped the pills instantly but the side effects and withdrawal had left me so distraught that I've been unable to control my own emotions and the thought of her not being in my life is more than I can bare
she's not just my wife partner soul mate mother of our kids but also my carer
It sounds really rough to feel like all that time was lost. But honestly if she really wanted you off your medication so badly, was she really being supportive of you in the first place? And why didn't she understand that, yes, sometimes medication makes people behave differently, it's not like it's your fault? If you were scared of becoming suicidal then she should have taken that more seriously, don't you think...? Doesn't sound like "for better or worse" to me...also have you talked to a doctor about maybe trying a different medication if this one is changing who you are too much in a bad way? Hopefully you find an actually supportive person soon, maybe someone who actually understands depression and how it affects people.
@Phthalo Well said, nothing I can add to that
