2 year harmful relationship and learning to let go
(tw for sexual assault mention & emotional abuse) i was in a relationship with someone who drained me to the core with how much they lied, depended on me to fix everything about them, how they mistreated me and used me for multiple things, and how they may have cheated on me (still confused on it, it's complicated) and it was really hard for a while to let that feeling go and remember that i'm safe now. i often push people away and reject physical affection because i'm afraid that they'll hurt me, but i've really been trying to learn to let it all go. it's been getting easier i believe. the scars left on me emotionally can still hurt and flashbacks can happen, but i'm doing the best i can with what i have. but, all in all, i hope this may inspire somebody else to let go of their mistreatment. if you are/have been in an unhealthy relationship, i hope this lets you know that things get better. you will heal, and you will survive even if it feels like the most difficult thing in the world. you will be able to let it go, and accept the present now as it is. you'll be okay without them, and you never deserve that treatment whatsoever. please stay safe everyone ❤️
