My boyfriend has lied to me throughout the relationship. We have talked it out every single time, after i had found out, and now we are trying to move on from it. Sometimes I catch myself being mad at him or holding a grudge for all the lies. The thing is, i kept finding out, he kept saying he would start communicating, until I would find out another lie and we would start all over.

now its been i think almost a year since we’ve had any magior “lying issues” but i still struggle. What can I do about it? I am scared to find out if there is gonna be a next lie. I feel like I live in the constant feat of finding out the next lie.

Hello! I am sorry to hear that you are struggling. Trust is key to being able to build a healthy relationship, and I can see how hard you are trying to overcome this obstacle and be happy with your partner. It is normal for you to find yourself doubting your partner from the moment he lied to you multiple times, despite promising to change. If you strongly believe that your relationship can still be saved, you may want to consider couples therapy. But always remember to consider your feelings and your emotional well-being above all, if you come to the conclusion that you are not with the right person, feel free to leave. I hope that things can work out one way or another.

@xssele Hi, I'm very sorry to hear that your boyfriend has lied to you throughout the relationship. I understand that it's particularly hurtful and annoying that he lied not only once, but over and over again. It might have felt like he was letting you down by not making the effort to be honest with you after you caught him lying the first time. I have three questions to ask you:

i.) How do you think you would like to proceed with this boyfriend?
ii.) If he keeps continues lying, do you think it would affect your connection with him?
iii.) Why do you feel like you're clinging to the past or just having legitimate trust issues?
