Boyfriend addicted to weed
Hello everyone. I’m really happy to be here and to be able to voice my struggles freely. I am going to try to keep this short and simple bc it can get long. My boyfriend and i have been dating for almost three years. He has always smoked weed and i didnt have that much of a problem with it until i started seeing how much it took over his daily life. He would smoke 3-4 times a night and had been doing that for 5 years. I recently had to leave him in order for him to tell his family. Now his family knows and they are very supportive of trying to help him in any way. I know how hard of a journey this is but what i am having problems with is knowing when to tell him how i am feeling. Today i found out he lied to me about his sobriety and i was so upset. I told him i was upset and then it made him more upset. I don’t know when its appropriate to be honest with my feelings because he is already going through so much. I also dont even know if him relapsing is a good reason for me to be mad. I just dont know what to feel!!! I love him so much and i want to support him but its driving me insane trying to manage my feelings and his.
Never try to change a man.
You took him on with it, more fool you.
Find someone not addicted to drugs..
Without them.he will be a different person

Thanks for sharing your story and so sorry to hear that. You must feel very struggled and upset with the situation.
I think you're doing the right thing of sharing your story and seek support at the forum. You're taking care of yourself and that's the most important thing.

I'm going through something very similar. My BF smokes everyday, multiple times and more on weekends. He's been doing it since he was a young teenager.
He goes through phases where he slows right down or smokes more depending on what he's dealing with in the moment. In fact, when he moved in with me, he completely stopped for a few months.
Why don't you like him smoking it? Does he become an arsehole or treat you badly?
I personally can't stand the smell, but it doesn't really change his personality or the way he treat me. I sometimes wonder (because of past discussions him and I have had) if he needs to smoke more when my emotions are going up and down (I'm bipolar) and so that can start a bit of an argument sometimes.
All that to say, you know you and you know what you can handle. Maybe a discussion is in order to just talk about why he does it.
Either way, hugs to you cause it sounds rough for you right now.
