I love my boyfriend, he's great he's amazing he's sweet, he's perfect but... It's really stressful to live up to his standards. He's perfect and every should be perfect for him, but I'm not perfect at all. I need to constantly make sure he's happy and doesn't realize how I'm a waste of his time and replace me. He's not the bad guy here, he's nice to me, he's gentle and kind it's just that he expects very highly of me so I always need to be as perfect as possible. It's alot of stress, what if I mess up one day? What if he gets tired of me and moves on?

Hello @purpleOak9329, I can see how the pressure is affecting you. Though it may be hard, I think it would be best if you confided in him about your feelings and how it has been affecting you. If he is as nice and perfect as you see him as, I am confident that he will respect your opinions and may lead to you two becoming closer as well. You are at no fault for feeling this way which is exactly why you should speak to him, or someone else about it. If you keep trying to try and "keep up with him," the stress will build-up to the point where you're totally drained. If he truly loves you, he will stay with you no matter who you are, though that may sound cheesy. If he loses interest, it shows the type of person he is. Don't be scared to say your feelings, though, in your situation it seems very difficult. Best of luck and please confide in someone about this.

Hello,

Must be a lot of pressure but be strong ! I agree, you should talk this out together, because the more you keep it for yourself, the more stressful and frustrating it will get with time. Be reassured, he probably loves you for a deeper reason which is not the fact that you try to be perfect for him.

I think it’s cool that you want to please him, but at the same time there is a « love me as I am » part that must not be neglected in your relationship.

As the person you love and who loves you, he will deal with your insecurities. What would you do for him if it were the reversed situation ?

Have a good day :)
