I would say long distance relationships frequently don't work out over the Long haul. That's not to say they never do tho

I don't see many advantages. Maybe just that your Partner isn't around to annoy you (LoL) Relationships aren't all roses & rainbows. Arguments take place, and they can get on your nerves, at times

The disadvantage is that you don't get to enjoy doing things together, or share intimate contact

To each his own. Each relationship is different because each person is unique and when these two people commit to one another they have their own sets of expections from the relationship. It may or my not work for you but it all depends on the people involved and each persons needs. Don't forget you're never alone.. You have us here at 7cups! ❤

Advantages: opens up your options when no one in your geographical area will ever love you, in some cases it allows people to get to know each other before having the opportunity to judge their looks, is more practical if someone is very busy and you can't physically meet each other, and sometimes mere distance can be a trivial thing to break up over if the relationship is otherwise great

Disadvantages: if sex and sensuality are important to any of you then it probably won't work out, you can also end up becoming "numb" to the person (where they are just text on a screen, which might make it harder to maintain feelings), needing more money in order to go visit them in person, and the possibility of never being able to live with them due to the way immigration works (or rather doesn't work)

From my past experience long distance relationships does not work out, then always i do think they can as i have seen others who have been successful in maintaining distance relationship. It all depends on the individuals from my point of view. :)

As someone who have gone through and have friends going through this, I've found both advantages and disadvantages.

The disadvantages would be to not be able to be with them physically. If you are a person who thinks kissing, holding hands, hugging, cudding, any sexual interactions are important, this will clearly be a disadvantage. It's also not always easy to meet up with them to hang out or when you need to have them around. This might be frustrating. It also depends on where the person lives, whether it's just a city away or a few counties away. Both can be equally frustrating as it takes time and money to get to them.

Some advantages are that you are still able to get to know them personally, in maybe a more emotional way as there's (almost) no physical connection. You can still hit them up through texts or (video)calls as there's a lot of opportuinities to keep in touch now. You get to talk more because communication will be really important (also during non long distance relationships), and loyalty and honesty will really be important in this matter (it always is in any relationships anyway).

Long distant relationships .everyone probably has their own personal experience with this.a fair statement would be that both people need to put as much effort into it as the other to make it work.llomg distant relationships are hard as it is so got to put in the work to reap the rewards.

I think it's all quite dependent on the people involved and what they are like, and what they can handle. I know distance relationships that worked and ended well and ones that started great and ended bad, were bad all the way through, or started difficult and was worked out. I don't think one can say whether or not they are objectively 'good', but they can work. I think it's definitely harder for romantic relationships, as the physical part of those are pretty important. The advantages of having or spending a portion of a relationship having a distance relationship may be that you both learn to communicate very well with each other, and the time you put aside for them is very important. You may get to learn about each other more and in depth while chatting or on the phone, because there are no 'distractions' such as activities or other people around. It could also keep the relationship 'exciting' as there's awlways something to look forward to - actually seeing each other, and planning trips and organising time together can be good building blocks for a solid relationship, and also just good skills to have personally. Disadvantes may be that the physical side is lacking and some people can't handle that for long. It may also become quite boring BECAUSE you can't do the activities and whatever together and ALL you can do it talk. Emotions like jealousy and distrust can be harder to control when so far apart all the time, and people with controlling tendencies could get overbearing.

But in the end, again, it depends on the emotional capabilities and maturity of both involved.

As you must have already heard, long distance relationships are hard. In general anyways.

I do have a friend who seems to end up in several long distance relationships one after the other, and according to her, she really enjoys it. Her main reason is because she loves having her space, though knowing that she also has someone there for her wherever she goes (because theoretically, she can message him on her phone wherever she is). However, the disadvantages obviously are, other than not being physically close and sharing intimate contact, miscommunication and not feeling like a part in each other's daily life (e.g. meeting partner's group of friends). Fights can often occur from a lack of communication, so it is very important that both partners communicate often. What can make long distance relationship easier is finding an end goal, where ultimately, both of you will be in the same place later on down the road. Overall though, it's hard to say if long distance is better or worse. It's a difficult hurdle for sure, but if you make it through it, I'd say that your relationship is pretty strong!
