I (Female, 19) dated my ex boyfriend (Male, 21) for 2 years. I am a very emotional person by nature, he was not as emotional. He was always a bit aloof, we loved each other. I always thought I loved him more, which I guess was true. He was a good person, not a good boyfriend. We were both career oriented, him more than me. He was a medical student so always busy. What bothered me was that even during quarantine period, he couldn't find the time for me. The whole relationship, I wanted his time, he said he tried his best but Idk.. I tried breaking up with him over it 2-3 times but we never did actually break up. By the last 6 months of our relationship, he couldn't even give me 10 minutes of the day. It was corona time so on both sides we had family issues, sickness and death. Mine more so. My beloved grandma died, my joint family was becoming nuclear and the family dog that I loved like anything was set to leave. I was very distruaght, we had different ways to deal with loss - I needed him, he needed space. It blew up because I needed him at the same time when he needed space because we were both dealing with loss. I tried breaking up with him multiple times in the last 6 months - I was so sick of everything. He was just never there for me. He stopped me. Then he broke up with me 1 week after my grandma died, 1 day before my dog was set to leave. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like somebody who could hurt me like this never loved me, as if the last 2 years were a lie. He says he stopped loving me. Everything hurts.

I can't imagine the amount of pain that you're facing right now. Breakups are never easy. But this one must have been so hard. Needing so much from a person, and not being able to get it. Being treated like you weren't as important. Sometimes life has a funny way of showing us that this is the wrong person for us. It makes sense that you two had different apporaches to things, and that didn't work well together. As you said, you needing him while he needed space. Again, that must have been so incredibly hard. And just as everything was falling apart, he breaks up with you. Despite how much times you tried in the past. It never happened. Then, right when you were at your lowest he breaks up with you. I am so so so so sorry that you have and have to continue enduring this and the pain that comes along with it. My condolences for everyone you would have lost thus far. You're so strong. Keep on going.
