I experienced a break six months ago. I have never really been able to get closure because he was not open to a discussion. I just learned that my ex is now in a relationship. I can't accept it and I always imagine him with her, with their happiness all over! How can I take that off my head?

That kind of preoccupation is a nightmare, isn't it? Especially when you can't do anything to resolve the situation.

But I can make a suggestion. This was recommended to me by my therapist at the time. I was kind of obsessed with a girl in some of my classes. She was clearly not interested, so I was stuck ruminating.

So every time I thought of her, I told myself to put it away, put the thought in a box, bring my mind to my breath or something in front of me. You'll have to do this many times at first, because the thought will not stay in the box. But it gets better. It's like breaking a bad habit. Just remember to be gentle with yourself. Try not to get frustrated or impatient.

He's clearly moved on. Now grant yourself the same.

Thank you for your message and your suggestions. I will try to apply them every time I have an image of them ... It's so hard to let time pass and to let go ... although I know it's the only solution. All the good memories, all we share...I can't stop wondering did he really forgot about all that and about me? Does he still care? I have no contact since I heard the news. I got rid of his things. I am cleaning, in my environment and in my head. Slowly but surely!
