Fiancee takes off ring during an argument???

Hey y'all, I've been pondering on what my next move should be regarding a sticky situation with my fiancee. I understand that y'all can only give me opinions, perspectives, and advice.

So to give alittle bit of background, we have been dating for almost two years and lets just say that the first year was a whirlwind of drama in between us and in both of our personal lives. As our love grew more deeper for one another my Fiancee finally purposed to me at the end of November, expressing to me her commitment to our future together.

Since then there has been a startling pattern of hers that honestly has been hurting my feelings. When we would argue over mainly me upsetting her (when in reality i don't throw the first stone), she ends up taking her engagement ring off that i had bought for her or she takes off mine. As well as insinuates that she's done with me. After the first time she had done that I had expressed to her that i take the ring she gave me very seriously (since it's my first engagement) and it symbolizes our future and our commitments to one another. And that when she takes it off, it hurts really deep inside. Her opinion is that her love shouldn't be tied down by some rings because it's deeper than that. After instances where she does take the ring off or ask for it back, once we make up she asks for me to just put it back on.

I love her so much and i really want to make this work because she does make me happy. But now im scared about the future and im wearing a ring that she just casual asked me to put back on after the fourth time it's been taken off my finger. How should I feel? What should i do? Any Advice?

Hey there, hopefully you are doing well. There's a few things I would like to point out;

Since then there has been a startling pattern of hers that honestly has been hurting my feelings. (This is a sign you really feel hurt, in a way feel disconnected regarding some of the things shes been doing. Do not ignore this, your feelings are trying to tell you something) When we would argue over mainly me upsetting her (when in reality i don't throw the first stone),(This is a red flag here, its an indication you are doing the best you can to communicate how you feel, and she seems to focus more on the anger she feels than how you feel. She is also deflecting and projecting on you, this is a woman who is not good at communicating) she ends up taking her engagement ring off that i had bought for her or she takes off mine. (This is a major red flag here...The moment she perceive theres a slight argument or a threat is where she wants to cancel everything. She is also behaving manipulative here, stonewalling you and withdrawing the ring as a form to get you to do what she wants. She is acting like a child here, and not behaving like an adult) As well as insinuates that she's done with me. (Its all in an effort to control and manipulate you because this is how she learns to get her way. She isn't ready for a relationship with this kind of manipulation. An adult would communicate, find compromise, but she wants everything her way) After the first time she had done that I had expressed to her that i take the ring she gave me very seriously (since it's my first engagement) and it symbolizes our future and our commitments to one another. (You did excellent in the way you expressed yourself here, this tells me you are behaving like an adult and wanting to find a resolution) And that when she takes it off, (This is not adult behavior...she is not taking the time to understand how this makes you feel and isn't showing any empathy for you. She is making things very difficult, and this is how she will treat you when you two marry and have children. She is not the kind of woman you can have a loving, lasting, adult and menaingful relationship with) it hurts really deep inside. (Its understandable it hurts, you are doing the best you can to express yourself while she is withdrawing the commitment at her convinience) Her opinion is that her love shouldn't be tied down by some rings because it's deeper than that. (Oh really? how is it deeper than that in her eyes when she is mistreating you and not behaving like an adult) After instances where she does take the ring off or ask for it back, once we make up she asks for me to just put it back on. (She is the kind of woman who would want to be with you when you don't express yourself or have needs, but the moment you express yourself and have needs is where she behaves in a controlling and manipulative way. I think she is also very selfish, and want things back as if nothing happens when she feels anxiety.)

I love her so much and i really want to make this work because she does make me happy. (I dont see this relationship working when she is not being caring and attentive to how you feel. It takes two to make it work, she isn't even trying to make it work. AT what point you say to yourself "Enough is enough, she is mistreating me and i deserve better"? But now im scared about the future (Its understandable is scary when she keeps taking the ring on and off. She is a very inconsistent and unpredictable person, this is not good for a relationship. You will feel even worst than if you marry a woman like this. Its important to feel safe, comfortable, heard, understood and loved. You dont feel any of those with her) and im wearing a ring that she just casual asked me to put back on after the fourth time it's been taken off my finger. (You should really take a closer look at your past. I can tell you may had always surpressed what you wanted and often pleased others to not be abandoned, which is what you are doing now. You are ignoring how you feel while pleasing her, its not how it should be) How should I feel? (If I was in your position I would have felt sad, scared, very hurt, disconnected, neglected and thinking if she is the right partner for me) What should i do? (The relationship is toxic, and all she is doing is thinking about how she feels. She simply cannot do relationship, and your hurt and sadness will get even worst if you stay with her) Any Advice?

@freshLight64 Honestly. I am so utterly grateful that you took the time out of your day to break down my message and actually see without seeing everything that's been going on. I keep on fighting for something that I dont think will get better. I have also seen when we've seperated and she goes, across the line, vindictive. And threatens to kill herself which I never take someone for granted on that. Shes damaged and so am I. I just dont want to be hypocritical.

I think you keep fighting for this relationship because you are unconsciously want to repair the relationship you had with your parents. I understand how difficult it can be to leave a relationship like this, but it's so important to take care of yourself and put yourself here first because she major issues/trauma that she isn't willing to work on. The moment she feels you are leaving is where she's is trying to manipulate you by threatening you because that's how she learned to get her way. The decision is yours to make, but it's like I mentioned, this relationship will not work. It's important to be with someone who is emotionally healthy and ready to be in a relationship.

A ring or a paper will nevrr keep you together, only what is inside the soul matters, artificial ties like a ring or a paper mean nothing...the true ties are inside...

@cometogether but in regards to the action of extracting something away that is a representation of a comittment. Wouldnt that be considered alarming?

@Lovestypo

Arguments are part of life, otherwise It will all be boring and dull and actions during an argument should not be judged since then tempers are hot...I would rather be afraid if actions taken coldhearted, calmly and calculated, well thought through...then...where is love, love shall endure despite rings or physical ties, when love dies out it just does and very rarely rekindles again...it's just life...
