Friendship issues in the relationship

I’ve been dating a guy for the past couple months now so we’re still getting to know each other. Yesterday evening after getting out of the shower my partner told me to tell one of my friends to stop texting me and his tone was a little on the aggressive side. I asked why what is the issue and he responded with he has several enemies, he’s messy, rude and disrespectful. I told him that I don’t know that side of him he’s been nothing but a good friend to me and that was the end of conversation. He mentioned my friend a while back asking me how we knew each other and stated he doesn’t like him and he said the same thing then just as he did so last night. I need some sound advice because I don’t want to be disrespectful to my partner and I am not going to ditch a friendship that has done nothing wrong to me over a relationship. Can someone please assist 🙏🏽

Hello there bear! As you mentioned, your partner wants you cut off friendship with someone that they have negative perceptions about but it's doesn't make sense to you since you haven't seen any of the bad sides of that friend. You sound like you're feeling really confused about the situation and I can see why. Even if its your partner claiming, it's hard to believe something without any proof.
I don't know any of you so I can't give advice. However, you can consider having a more elaborated conversation with your partner about why they think this about the said person and if they have any strong evidences. You can calmly explain to em that you want to be 100% sure before you do anything and it's hard for you to believe since you haven't seen anything bad in that friend but good. This can also help build up the trust between you two in a way.

With love
