Helplessly in love
I have been with my husband for almost 8 years and we have two children together. The entire time weve been together he hasnt been very emotionally supportive. I have been through a lot in my life that he doesnt understand BUT he chooses not to even try to understand or go to couples counseling. A few years ago I woke up to him saying he didnt want to be together anymore because he didnt think he was in love with me anymore and I need to be with someone who understands my emotional needs. After a few hours of talking it out, we decided to try to work it out as long as I go to therapy to talk about my trauma - which I did. I wanted him to go with me so he could try to understand what Ive been through and my emotional needs but he refused. That day has never been brought up again and as of today hes still not very emotional supportive.
Rewind to a couple years ago when I reconnected with an old friend who was the ‘one who got away and I was in love with. He ended up telling me he was always and still is in love with me but understands Im married. He said he wants to be in my life even if that means us just being friends. So we are! Im still very much in Love with him. He is my ‘twin flame and he just gets me. He is super supportive with what I need emotionally and we just have this beautiful connection.
I love him but I also love my husband. Im honestly at a loss with how to handle this.
@Hippieishopelessromantic sorry for the first blank response. The app isnt working correctly. Your post was the first I clicked on here and it honestly freaked me out because Im in a nearly identical boat, right down to believing I have a Twin Flame. Very new here so I dont know how this all works but Id love to chat with you if possible. I have no one else who know my situation, and no one whod understand.
