How undesirable can one be?
I am not a social butterfly. I hangout with friends for dinner but all low-key. I've been single for a long time and thought online dating would help me. I tried all this online dating for many years without any success and it is making me feel undesirable. Even if I get a match out of bluemoon, it's a small talk and even before I know, they unmatch! This is now making me feel really undesirable/unattractive and not someone anyone would fall for..

You're not a social butterfly, and it is perfectly ok to be an introvert. You've tried online dating, without much success.
Here are a few options, you may consider.
1. Do a self-inventory on what qualities and attributes that you have that may be potentially attractive to the opposite sex (or sex of your choosing)
2. Do research into dating, what makes or breaks introductions, and perhaps find a mentor (offline) that can assist you with some techniques to help you build some confidence, learn the dos and don'ts, and above all help you to figure out how to become presentable, or interesting to your potential dating partner.
3. When things calm down from a social perspective, join a meet-up group with plenty of those from the sex of your choice which you'd like to potentially date. Remember, it's about presentation, persona, and delivery of how people perceive you greatly determines your success much more than canned lines, lame pick-up jokes, or PUA (pick-up artist) techniques. People value a person that is genuine, so I'm not suggesting that you become someone you're not - but clearly, what you've been doing is not working out for you. Therefore, you'll need to change up your routine, methods, and approach.
4. Have a type, or rather a goal - of the type of person that you're looking to go after. Where do those types of people tend to hang out, what hobbies do they have? How can you get involved, genuinely?
5. Research. I can't stress this enough. I can easily see your frustration, but understand that your past does not dictate your future. You can perform enough research to find ways and methods that will work for you to meet someone new.
6. Perhaps as a mentor, or even someone of the sex of your choice for opinions, such as your profile, the style of your dress, the way you come across - ask for feedback.
7. Don't get discouraged. Dating is SUPPOSED to be fun, but a lot of people are very thankful when they finally meet someone because they no longer have to date. Dating takes time, effort, money, and energy.
8. There is a type of person that is out there looking for someone like you, that is perfectly compatible. The best suggestion I can give you? "Meeting the person of your dreams is a bit of luck, but more about being at the right place at the right time." Now, that place can be online but don't discount in-person connections.
9. Give yourself a makeover, make sure that you're presentable, wear nice clothes, and present to others well. You didn't say if you're male or female, but I can assure you that regardless of what sex you are and what sex you're seeking in a partner does require you to get dressed up and look nice. Perception is important.
10. Learn from what works and what doesn't, don't repeat a lot of the things that have not worked out for you. If you continue striking out, examine your method or style and make the necessary adjustments. Just because you're an introvert, perhaps socially awkward - does NOT mean you can't find someone that is right for you.
I wish you well in your search.
