My boyfriend and I had sex a couple weeks ago when I was between semesters and visiting my family for the holiday. We used condoms and were safe about the entire thing but for some reason my period is late and Im very worried Im pregnant. I come from a strict catholic household and I will be disowned if I am. There are numerous reasons as to why my period could be late. I have been under an enourmous amount of stress and I recently had a medication change. However my mind still worries about the worse case scenario. I am going to return to my campus in a few weeks but I cant take my courses if Im pregnant as I am a science major and the majority of my classes are labs. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

First of all, breathe: if you used a condom and you have experienced a lot of stress lately - to which you're now adding the pregnant scare, so more stress - it's very unlikely that you are pregnant. Being afraid is normal, though, and you can get rid of the feaf by getting tested. You can buy a pregnancy test or have yourself checked by your gynechologist. As soon as you get your answer, you'll be able to live yoir live peacefully again!
