I
I am new to this so please bare with me if I rant on. I've been married for 16 years. My husband is a very selfish, vain person who is not taking growing older well. Mid life crisis I guess? He is very independent, takes his hobbies seriously and beyond active. He works non stop as well. He let me know in the beginning he likes his space. That was fine with me because I like to be alone and do my own thing as well. Never had a bad marriage. Maybe didn't spend enough time together for my liking, but he was home every night. We are best friends. He moved out 2 years ago stating he is going through something, has nothing to do with me. He says he feels bad because I'm a great wife and hates doing this to me. I said if he was with someone else or if that's what he wanted at that point to tell me. He said it wasn't about that. We still talked and saw each other all the time. Even went on trips. Every time I thought he was coming around he would turn and say he wanted a divorce. It's been torture for me. I finally just said do it and I'm waiting for papers. I already have anxiety and depression but with this and being stuck at home because of the virus I'm struggling. I know I don't deserve what he's doing to me. I just don't know how to move on. How do you let 16 years go just like that? I could never do that. It hurts so bad and I can't seem to see any light.
@Zoe1972 Why did you marry in the first place?
@sensibleStrawberries9877 He was very loving and made it seem like he was ready for marriage. I know the love is real. I just think at the time he thought marriage is something he wanted. Now it seems like he shouldn't have. I also was single for 5 years after my first divorce and said I would never marry again. Maybe it's my fault. I was alone and wanted companionship and he gave me so much attention.
@Zoe1972 each to their own. I was just curious :)
