I broke up with my boyfriend 4 months ago because i found out he was cheating and sexting with a girl on a dating app. I was devastated and kicked him out.Ive blocked him and muted his instagram but i can’t seem to get over him. The day i caught him cheating still haunted me. What should i do?

I'm so sorry , It happened with you. But try take it in a positive way that you are out of it now and not part of that toxic relationship anymore.

After a breakup, it’s normal to feel caught up in the past. Moving on might seem like a difficult feat, so just focus on taking baby steps. Immediately after your breakup, take care of yourself so your broken heart will start to mend. Then, you can focus on working through your emotions and building your independence. When you’re ready, begin dating again with the goal of making a connection.

How long were you together? You may not like what I’m going to say, but I’m going to say it anyway. You may think he is - but he’s not good for you if he partakes in that kind of behavior with another woman. It takes time, but you need to move on and heal. Not just for your heart but your physical and mental well-being. I never dealt with the feelings I was left with after being dumped long ago, and I’m having to deal with those issues now. Trust, commitment. Don’t let what happened to me happen to you. Talk it out with a friend (not him.) Mourn him.

Thank you for your response. We’ve dated for only 3 months!. We moved in together after 1 month of dating.I’ve made a HUGE mistake moving in and trusting him too fast. We were in a honeymoon phrase and he was the first guy i introduced to my parents and all of my bestfriends.I guess thats prob the reason why it hurts so much. Also, im aware that 3 months was a very short time😅 i dont really understand how is it possible that im not over him yet. I completely agreed with what you’re saying and i will talk it out with my friends ! ❤️

@NP1818 I am sorry to hear that. having a partner you love and care about, and feeling they love you back, but out of a sudden it turns out they are cheating on you, it feels heart-breaking to go through it, it feels very confusing to decide whether to give another chance or just move on.

How does thinking about your boyfriend make you feel? How would getting back with him make you feel?

exactly😢 ive been so confused! but i will never go back to someone who treated me like that. I will love him from the distance and wish him well in his journey but the getting back to him would make me feel like i disrespect myself.

@NP1818 I understand, It seems like you forgive him, in a way that you wish him a happy life, but you won't be back with him because of what he did can't be repaired.

It took me over 3 years to get over my previous relationship. I know it sucks to hear, but sometimes you just gotta give it time.

@NP1818

Thank you. I have. My current partner is lovely. But it took a long time to get in a place where I was even able to consider dating someone else. And when the time came, it was still hard to let myself date my current partner. So... just give it time. Allow yourself to feel what you feel. To grieve and so on. And try to be as honest with yourself as possible. That's the best advice I can give.

@NP1818

It can be very difficult to make the break and many people stick it out simply because they want to avoid making themselves move on...

So kudos to you for making the move .... it does take time but try not to focus on what could have been but open yourself to new challenges or ideas about what you want long term .....

My guess is it will NOT be a cheating BF

Thank you for your kind advice. Yes , i have to admit that i dont really want to forget him and abandon all the good memories. However, after reading a comments on my thread im feeling much better and i know that its time to take a break from relationship that doesn’t suit me. You’re right! Im gonna be more open minded and meet people who will treat me right❤️
