I've typed a lengthy story earlier but the sharing failed. I'm lost and constantly having dark thoughts. I really don't know what to do now. 😔

I hear what both of you had to write. @CAE shared their experience as well.

I think it's a very difficult moment of course, understandably, making a mistake that breaks a vow/promise and someone's trust. So it is difficult. It's not going to be easy because of the value we give to being true and honest in relationships.

I make mistakes as well, everyone does. If I had cheated on my partner, I won't go down the self blame or guilt route. Sometimes it's not in our control whether we go down the route or not, but if we have the chance to make the choice of how to react to our mistake or see it, I will see it just as it is, a mistake. We all make mistakes and aren't perfect, it doesn't make us bad innately, but just Human.

And as a Human I think I do my best all the time, at least in the sense that I do all I can, given the circumstances. So if I cheated on my partner, It's horrible, and it's down to what all is happening around me and the circumstances that lead me to do it, it doesn't necessarily mean I suddenly for a moment of madness turned into evil and went to hurt everyone.

So, that's all I can offer in terms of guidance, in short, it's the circumstances always, and if you look at it all, you will find peace that you are only Human and can accept yourself as that, with mistakes and success. You are more than all this.

I would suggest Therapy, maybe you can find it helpful for giving you a way to cope and find a release.
