Is this socially acceptable?
I am 22 and graduated college back in May. A friend of my mom's is trying to set me up with a 12th grader who is 18. We all go to the same church, but i never paid attention to her because of the age gap. I do think she is very pretty but I am afraid what every one will think as I just started coming back to this church after a 6 year hiatus. I have been going for 2 weeks to really learn and discover God and Christianity and I don't want to seem like I am here for girls... I am also afraid that the age gap will be too "weird". Also the last problem is, how do I approach her without making it awkward, because I recall when i was in high school, i had a great deal of respect for college kids. I would always feel nervous and self-conscious around them and I don't want her to feel like that. Anyways, most likely nothing will happen, just wanted your feedback, thanks.

Hello there. I can understand your concerns about the age gap and what people at the church might think. Regarding the age gap, since both of you are at least the age of consent, the gap is not too big. 22 and 18 are not that far apart to be so different from each other. There are chances that you two might have things in common. About what the people at the church thinking you only came back for girls, I don't think that's being fair to yourself. You said so yourself. Your mother is trying to set you up with her. A parent mingles :) Besides, theres nothing wrong with being into girls and attending church. :)
Let me know what happens when you meet her! You might just become great friends.
@HalliwellSister Thanks for the response. I will try my best to talk to her, I don't even really get a chance to hang out with her or anything due to different hang out groups.

You're welcome! Good luck!
@HalliwellSister Well said :)
