I want more time with him
My husband and I are just recently married. Weve been together for almost 3 years though. I love him with all my heart, but loving him can be hard sometimes. We both work strange hours and because of that I rarely see him, not to mention he is also in the reserves for the military.
To put this into perspective, the military will take him for a weekend each month, my hours are from 12-9 and his are 1-10 with many doubles throughout the week and sometimes (cough cough almost all the time) weekends too. Because of the doubles he sleeps in a lot and we often dont t get out of bed until 10. And by then I have to get ready for work and leave. So times that I get to see him are rare, and when I do see him, he is often complaining about how tired he is and he will end up going to bed right away. So I usually only see him awake for about an hour or two a day, if that.
He also has a lot of friends that seem to always want to hang out with him and will snag him up when he does finally get a day off. I often feel like I am competing for his time.
I get really sad when he does other things without me or spends time with other people, because part of me feels like Im getting put on the back burner. And yeah a lot of the time he will bring me along when he goes out with his friends, but personally I want more. I feel like its not actually quality time being out with him and his friends. Am I wrong for feeling this way? Is it wrong for me to feel like the time he is giving me is not enough?
Im sorry, Ive had a rough day and I needed a bit of a rant. I apologize if I seemed to ramble.
I am sorry to hear that you are having difficult time in your relationship. I am currently feeling similar as you. Even my boyfriend asked me to have his own time. I already felt lonely even before he asked me that...and now Im totally alone even though Im in a relationship.Ok Ill stop talking about my stuff. And back to your situation, have you talked about how you feel to your husband? Or have you tried to change your shift? Lastly, before your and your husbands scheduling issue, was your relationship fine?? At least now you know what causes the problem and what you want. I think its time to hear what your husband really think about you and if he is willing to have some changes for your relationship. @Squishycantaloupe19
@ranmanuet1 thank you for your comment. Im sorry to hear your having a bit of an issue with your partner. Id honestly suggest talking to him about it.
I really do get upset when my husband chooses to do other things without me, but then I remember that he is actually juggling a lot of stuff. And I know he wouldnt do this on purpose but I guess maybe he just forgets that I need a little bit more quality time together than just sitting on the couch and watching TV together.
I see guys love to have their own time...and if a woman complaint about it then they feel so pushed...and want to be away more. I hope for the best you could talk with your husband well and both of you could be happy with the relationship. If that didn
Yes I agree about guys seeming to need more time to themselves. I could say the same for you as well. I think couples do need time apart, as long as its not too much. I hope you can work through your relationship. My advice to you if youre not get the quality time you need, maybe set a date night up. I plan to do that with my husband, and Im hoping it might help with the quality time issues. If its scheduled then your guy will know about it ahead of time and be able to plan his me time accordingly @ranmanuet1
