Leaving a good relationship
Left a relationship that was overall good. All my friends loved him and I thought he was the one. He just couldn’t love me the way that I needed to be loved and I expressed this multiple times. I gave him months to change but I just woke up one day feeling like I couldn’t be happy in the future if this is what it was ultimately going to be like. It was always “good” but it was never “great”. A part of me regrets my decision but at the end of the day I knew this was important enough for me to not keep being passive about. Still holding onto hope that one day he’ll make a grand gesture but his lack of effort (even in trying to get me back) reassured me that we would’ve lived a mundane life together.
Hi @lovingField3868
From what you told, seems like you've been being assertive in what you need and want. That's pretty cool.
There's a saying, "Look closely to the present you're constructing. It should look like the future you're dreaming".
You would know best if the issue is critical or not to your happiness in the long run. All the best 💜
I’m in the same boat. I broke up with my gf because she couldn’t give me more time together. After a year and a half I would only get maybe 1 day alone without her kids. We had no plans to move in or get more serious and now we’re talking again but it doesn’t seem like she’s interested in making any changes.
I’m so sorry you had to go through this and it sounds like he doesn’t deserve it but just know I’ve been through something similar and can say from experience that he may not be reaching out because as much as it pains him not to reach out, he wants to respect you. We’re you guys engaged or just dating?
