My girlfriend and I broke up
Hello all, this is the first major step I’ve ever taken towards mental health recovery. I love the anonymity of this. It’ll help me because I’ve had therapy sessions as a child that were traumatizing and I couldn’t speak. I’m here to talk about my girlfriend and I. She’s now my ex. I love her so much. I see a family with her. Something I’ve never seen with a woman before. We broke up recently because she started to feel unloved and unappreciated, yet I made sure to love and care for her everyday we saw each other. I think there’s some sort of stress coming from my family too. My mother is a narcotics / alcohol addict, and has gotten really abusive with my for majority of my life. I’m in my early 20’s and I still live at home. My life I see is with my girlfriend. Living in an apartment and taking care of her every day. I want to do that and I’ve been working a lot. I work in a warehouse, so a lot of physical labor is involved. I work out my frustrations, but I still want to get better. My insurance doesn’t cover therapy unfortunately, and I don’t feel like shelling away all my savings to a therapist. I’m taking this route. Thanks for listening. I appreciate you all.
after listening to your story, I don't have any tips for you and im sorry for what happened. i hope you find someone who love you better, and don't end up being self doubting cycle, it's not healthy, you did nothing wrong, your background, your illness, you shouldn't blame yourself. you will get better soon i promise :) sending love and hugs to you friend
Hi, I did do something wrong. I could’ve been more understanding to her and I pulled myself away. On top of that, we didn’t communicate clearly. I used to be able to tell what she was thinking. After a hundred “I’m fine’s”, you lose your touch in being able to understand sometjing is wrong. We both have a lot to improve on. We will be together again.
