Please I just need help.
so I had a girlfriend of 3 years now and I loved her with all my heart. Im young Im 24 and just a regular college student and she is 22. I am an American citizen but shes an immigrant from Africa and she is illegal in the United State. so knowing the situation her and her family approached me to ask for a favor back in 2017. So she ask me if I could marry her so she becomes legal in the USA. i loved her very much so I decided to marry her back in 2017 so she could have all the necessary paper to be able to stay here with me. So I married her but she was not the person I thought she was. During the 3 years period she cheated on me 7 times, she made me go through hell and depression, and she was abusing me mentally. now I want to divorce but her mom and her are begging me not to do it because if I do she might be in trouble and will probably never have her paper to be able to stay here permanently. So I really don't know what to do.

@missBeck i really don't know. It was really my first time loving someone so deeply and i didn't know what was happening to me. Normally I would have never forgive. But now we are not together anymore she as a new bf but she's still married to me and she don't want to divorce

@Gabrielb1996 When it comes to happiness, you are in control of your life. At the moment, I can understand why it does not feel like you are.
You may have a niggle in the back of your mind telling you it is a selfish act to divorce her, but you have to put yourself first to allow yourself to learn, grow and get back to enjoying life.
I would guess that it won't be easy, but you have to do what is right for you.

@missBeck you are right but it's hard you know because I was really in love with her I married her so she can have papers and my parents don't even know they will be so upset and disappointed on top of that she was living in my house with me I was taking care of her she had no job so I was supporting myself as a student and her too. But she was always ungrateful. Last week we tried to reconnect and I tried to forgive her but she did me wrong once again. We went out on a date we kissed the next day we set up another date this time it was restaurant and a little gateway at the hotel she said yes and was so enthusiastic. So I booked the night at the hotel and reserved the table at the restaurant. When the time of the date came she ignored all my calls all night because she was on another date with another man and spent the night with him. The following day I went to her house to have answers and she told me basically that she never promised anything to me, that she doesn't care and didn't want to go to the hotel with me. Keep in mind that I paid for the hotel already

see i was talking carelessly because it wasnt my life i was an idiot and i walked around like i was so smart . but think if you dont change your ways you cant get diffrent answer .think about next 10 years you waste your life for her your children get embarraced because of her and you cant find your real love .

ok, i change my mind now that i saw more of your post. ok, i didn't see the cheating thing but that is bad. well i know you love her but I think she is showing you who she is. It's hard to see it / get it / accept it when you are in love cuz love is blind. love yourself more and take care of yourself and at least consider getting some distance for yourself so you can keep things in perspective. good luck.
