Sincerity
Hey :) for the last two months I have been dating a guy who now I like a lot. We have become friends with benefits and the last days his indifference is driving me crazy. So I decided to be sincere with him and tell him what I feel. Whatever the outcome is I will feel better. The problem is that I dont know how I should tell him without scaring him away. I would appreciate your advices. Thanks
@brightPlum9077 You have just been sleeping with him and hanging out basically, right? But now you have started to have emotional feelings for him? Well, you can tell him and see what he says! A lot of the times, the guy will say he cares for you too, but isn't ready for a relationship .. but still hopes you will sleep with him! I made this mistake a few times and it really stinks. Eventually you get older and you turn into an emotionless, hard hearted rock b/c you've been hurt so many times. lol See what this guy says .. if it's a no, then maybe move on and find a real boyfriend instead of someone who just wants to use you for sex. Seriously.

What is it you want him to understand the most? What is most important for him to know about you? Have you thought about writing things down? Maybe if you type it out or write it out first you'll have a chance to read it over to see how it sounds. In the end, honesty is important. Don't change for someone else and don't hide things or fabricate things to make someone else happy. Be real. They will either like what you have to say, or not like what you have to say. Whatever it is, maybe it will upset them at first and they will think about it and get over it, maybe your differences will be too far off from one another and that's ok too, that happens all the time when people have completely different priorities. Either way, make sure you're doing what is best for you. Your happiness is most important.

Hi there, good to hear you've decided to talk to him about it and are prepared for whatever outcome. In regard to what to actually say, I think the best route is just to be as honest (but un-dramatic) as possible. You have feelings for him and perhaps want something more than just a sexual relationship, and his indifference hurts you. That's factual and fair, and gets the message across. If that scares him away, or really any other kind of admission of feelings, then he just may have not been ready for a real relationship and you've saved yourself the time. If it were me, I wouldn't settle for something that wasn't what I wanted or made me fully happy just to keep someone around for as long as possible. If they can't commit, and I don't want just a FWB, it's time to move along.
Hey all, thanks for your responses. I talked to him and it ws as I was expecting. He fell in love with his "freedom", doesn't want to have any commitments but still would have like to have a ''functional friendship''. This happened 3 weeks ago and I was heartbroken. I felt rejected and I told him to keep his distance from me.... and it has been like that since then. Now I feel better and I understand that he wasn't a good catch for me. As you guys said, I should strive for what I want (a person that truly cares about me). However, I don't know if I'm acting in a no mature way not talking to him anymore. I just feel better being away from him because every time I see him, I just feel bad because I still like him :(
