Strugging in direction

Me and my partner at the time went on holiday together abroad and everything was fine and perfect. All happy and all is well. Chemistry all round and we've been seeing each other throughout. Communication is perfect etc.

Recently in the last couple of weeks, she's expressed that she's no longer happy but assuring me it's nothing that I have done she simply doesn't know how we can progress and states that she doesn't know if she wants a relationship or not and she still wants to book another holiday to Mallorca with me soon.

We sat down and spoke out it and she stated that she wants to go down to being friends with benefits which I politely declined as I feel it would damage my mental health due to me wanting more out of our relationship but I stated that I want an opportunity for growth in the future. I'm just struggling day to day to think of what I can do in order to win her attraction over me as she still wants a close connection with me just without the pressure.

Can someone help me find a path in which I can follow.

Many thanks and thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this thread.

Hi! Thanks for sharing, I know it must be tough to say and it is an awful situation you're in. It seemed as though she was suddenly stricken with the thought of not being happy and wanting to be friends with benefits.

That is a lot happening, it's crazy. You may be wondering about her thought process during this, but focus on your thoughts for a sec. It seems as though you've expressed and said that you want to be dating but not friends with benefits. I think that if you both find a time to sit down, express how you feel, talk through your decisions, and share what makes you think that, there may be a solution and some closure in there somewhere.

Take care!

Hey!

It must be an annoying situation but you also must respect her want for nothing serious. It’s hard to see that your feelings aren’t mutual but to save yourself in this situation, it’s either you choose to leave it or simply carry on as something nameless but you need to let go of the expectation for more.

Could I ask, how old are you 2? If you’re young then it’s understandable for people to not want a serious relationship but simply just enjoy company.

@james0402- This is a tough one. Your honesty expressing that accepting a "friends with benefits" relationship will be detrimental to your mental health is one of the key items that jumps out to me. Hold onto that truth. Compromising your emotional stability in an attempt to win her attention might be very hard on you. I understand the desire to want to "win" her back. Have you asked her that question?? Might be a place to start. In the meantime, focus on yourself. Yep, that is always the answer to questions about relationships. It is a key. Best of luck to you.
