It is an unfortunate statistic that in the case of most rapes and sexual assaults, the perpetrator is known to the victim. A lot of abusive relationships involve violence- emotional, physical and sexual.
Violence comes in many forms. IPV can look like being forced into sexual interactions by physical violence, or emotional manipulation, being disrespectful of your wishes and puting you down.
That’s unfortunate, and really really traumatic. It feels like betrayal, a loss of trust. It brings a lot of uncomfortable emotions, and reaching out and opening up is never easy.
So this is your space- it’s a safe place for you to open up and share your experiences about sexual assault. If you knew them or not, if it was reported or not, if you were heard before or not, here’s a gentle reminder that what happened was real and your voice is very valid. I’m here for you<3 Also it wasn’t your fault.
If sharing experiences is difficult, you are not alone. Sending love, and support because you are a lovely person who deserves it. What someone else did does not define or devalue you.

I have something to share. But its not about me. It's about someone close to me who got into a traumatic and violent relationship. They had been really good for the first few months but the true colors started showing pretty quick when my friend tried to get a little space and start a new job. They faced brutal punches and a lot violent acts that led to non-consensual sex and bruises. At the end, my friend faced a critical situation that almost put her life at risk. Such a thing had traumatized both me and her since we used to be room mates.
I hope no one ever goes through it. Ever.
Thank you for shattering and oh my, that sounds so terrible and scary. I hope they are safe and out of it. Sending hopeful wishes, and I'm sorry that they acted like that. She never deserved that treatment and I hope no one has to face it
