Trust issues in relationship

I've been dating a guy for almost 6 months. At first it was pretty good..you know the first few months are always the best it seems. When we met on okcupid it was like we had a bit in common and he didn't smoke, drink, etc. Flash forward two months into it, he told me that he was a smoker and hid it from me because he liked me and knew it was a deal breaker. I told I can't deal with the cigarettes(I grew up breathing in second hand smoke and watching my mom get CPOD from it) - so I can't stand it. I told him he shouldn't have lied to me about smoking, then he told me that he doesn't consider vaping smoking...but yet, he hid that from me. I'm ok with Vaping(despite it's studies). But recently, there's been a few things he's done that makes me believe he might be lying to me about something else. On one ocassion he sent me a text meant for his, "brother" and a week later, I tried to call him after I had gotten off work around 9:30 and he was on the phone with his, "brother"....then a week later he said it's been a long time since he talked to his brother and I reminded him that he just talked to him a week ago and he replied, "oh yeah, that's right. Was that really a week ago? It feels like forever ago". He's also recently been going to, "thrift stores" more often than usual. He went to the thrift store 3 times since last week. Today he told me he took his cousins baby to the thrift store with him, while they were giving blood at a donation center. I was actually out dropping my teenager off at his friends(which is in the same small city he lives nearby in) and saw him parked at a red light and he didn't mention he was going to the thrift stores(NOT that he has to tell me everything he's doing) - So I ended up getting a bad feeling about it. When he got home he sent me a texting saying he just got home and went to the thrift stores.

I've been used and cheated on in the past and now I feel like a wrecked 35yr old who will never able to fully trust any man for as long as I live(I should note that I did spend 3 years single before getting into this and thought I had worked on these issues with myself). Ever since he lied to me about smoking I've wondered if there's anything else he might be lying to me about. Am I right to feel this way about his recent actions or do I need to spend another 3 years alone?

@Strangefox4990 Heya! First of all, thank you for sharing it with us. And after being cheated once, your concerns are valid and the reasons you are not trusting him too are valid. It seems to be real hard for you dealing with it. I was wondering if you have thought about talking to him about how him lying about his smoking has raised trust issues and you are having hard time believing him? If yes, how did it go? Have a great day ahead heart

@Strangefox4990,

You have all the right to protect you and your feelings,so yes,if it doesn't feel right to you,then it is not right.Listen to your gut instincts ,it looks to me there is something fishy about the situation,so pay attention to your instinct.The guy does not sound like an ok guy.I have been single longer than you but this is not a reason to put up with a guy who is not safe just because I want to be with someone.Make a list of the things that are deal-breakers for you and tick the answers that are true for this guy.Then you will clearly see whether your suspicions are right and decide what to do.Hope this helps,good luck!
