I am in a 4 year long relationship and 2 years ago I have discovered that he was cheating for a period of 6 months (receiving *** from a girl we both knew) which he blamed on his porn addiction ( something else that I can’t cope with). Anyway, It’s been two years and I can’t seem to move on; I still get flashbacks and nightmares frequently and the intrusive thoughts are destroying my life and my confidence. I can’t help but feel that I am not enough and end up comparing myself to other girls which I think is also affecting our relationship and intimacy. I have to be honest, my partner is doing his best to become better and I can see how regretful he is about the things he has done. He is trying to be part of my healing journey even though he is struggling with his healing process with porn addiction. I want to help him get over it but It honestly pains me to think that he watches other girls for pleasure especially since it was the reason behind his cheating. I am really struggling and I don’t know what to do. I miss living a normal life…

I feel so bad for you,

I am currently dealing with the same situation.

If he admits he is wrong and part of your healing process, if there was no other related issues that has been there ever since. You might consider giving him another chance but he also have to play role in gaining your trust back ad he has to understand he broke it and it might take time to regain it. Ofcourse only if you still love him or if he is trying his best to be different and u can see it.

@Luna0x0

You are dealing with a lot.

Cheating IMO is not  always about the one thing a person claims it was.... maybe they do not know how to deal with with the root cause or explain it to you.

In this case along with the Porn issue  he has you  thinking it is about  not being enough.... ...This is  his issue NOT you  ... what he is getting out of the addiction....   what is he missing  ? .........that he thinks porn or cheating provides?     until he can see that he may control it for awhile but it is not solved.

it is not about knowing your wrong and having regret it is about knowing how / why and dealing with that.  actions speak louder then words. and it takes time and patience to get through this.. and while it fades it will always be there. how you deal with it is your choice always.
